Chocolate Dipped Butter Cookies

I absolutely love these cookies. They have such simple ingredients too! I like to make them for Christmas, but they are great at any time of the year.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Cup Unsalted Butter
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Baking Powder

First, preheat your oven to 375°F. Cover your baking sheets with parchment paper. While your oven is heating, cream the butter, sugar & milk at medium speed, until they are well blended. Next, beat in the egg and vanilla extract. In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt & baking powder. Mix this into the creamed mixture. Drop in rounded tablespoons onto your baking sheets. Once your oven is hot, bake them for 7-9 minutes. Remove the cookies from the baking sheets and place them on wire racks to cool completely.

Depending on your tastes, you may prefer to just eat them as is, without the chocolate. If you decide to decorate them, it's time to melt some chocolate! I like to use semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate on my cookies. Use your preferred method to melt your chocolate (double boiler or microwave). Simply dip the tops of your cookies into the chocolate and place them on a tray to harden. I love to drop festive decorations onto the chocolate as well! The chocolate will harden faster if you place the cookies somewhere cool.

Enjoy!
